On August 18, 2026, the Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners approved $2.5 million in Development Incentive Program funding for Holy Cross Health to support the development of a new comprehensive outpatient center, ambulatory surgery center, and freestanding emergency department at 200 East Sunrise Boulevard.The project represents an estimated $83.8 million capital investment in the Northwest-Progresso-Flagler Heights (NPF) CRA and is expected to expand access to healthcare services, create new jobs, and support continued redevelopment within the area. The new two-story healthcare facility will include an 11,721-square-foot freestanding emergency department with 12 treatment rooms and diagnostic imaging services, including X-ray, ultrasound, and CT scanning. On May 5, 2026, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved a new incentive designed to improve safety and strengthen commercial corridors within the Northwest-Progresso-Flagler Heights (NPF) CRA and Central City CRA districts. The newly established Property Safety Enhancement Program (PSEP) will provide eligible commercial property owners, business tenants, and nonprofit organizations located within the CRA boundaries with the opportunity to apply for financial assistance for security and safety improvements.
