On March 2 , 2021, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved funding for the continuation of a pilot project in partnership  with  Rebuilding Together Broward County, Inc.  The program provides  minor home repairs, painting, and landscaping services. Eligible properties include single-family, owner-occupied residential homes or family-owned rentals located in the Dorsey Riverbend neighborhood. Rebuilding Together Broward County, Inc. (RTBC)  is a non-profit organization that works in collaboration with the community, volunteers, skilled tradesmen, and companies to improve the lives and living conditions of low-income homeowners through home repairs and improvements. In addition to painting and landscaping, RTBC will also address life/safety issues, code violations, and structural matters (i.e. leaks, plumbing, the installation of smoke alarms, electrical, and the trimming of large branches and bushes in preparation for hurricane season, etc). On February 2 , 2021, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved a funding increase for the CRA Residential Façade and Landscaping Program. The program has now been expanded  to include  the  Home Beautiful Park and Durrs Communities. The CRA will began to accept applications  from residents residing in Home Beautiful Park and the Durrs communities on Monday, March 1, 2021. The Residential Façade and Landscaping Program is designed to provide funding for the beautification of single-family residential homes and includes external painting and landscaping.  The CRA will provide up to $5,000 per property for external painting, patching, pressure cleaning and xeriscape landscaping. On February 2 , 2021, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved $275,000 in CRA incentives to Knallhart Holdings II, LLC for  the Abbey, located  in the heart of Flagler Village, at 441 NE 3 Ave. The Abbey, which is currently under construction,  consist of  the  renovation and adaptive reuse of a historic church ( former First Evangelical Lutheran Church)   into a 220-seat, full-service restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining and a event space. The Abbey  is estimated to create over 140 jobs in the hospitality area and offer world class food and beverages. The estimated cost of the renovations  is $3,000,000. On December 15, 2020, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved $350,000 in CRA incentives to Omegas in Broward, Inc. for the renovation and build out of the Omega Center, located at 1108 Sistrunk Boulevard, into a modern meeting and event space. The  proposed renovations and build out entail a new contemporary facility with a large meeting area for special and business events.  Renovations will also include the installation of  new accessible restrooms, an outdoor seating area, and office and storage space.  Additional enhancements will also feature  high ceilings, ample windows and street frontage. Once completed, the facility will be available to the public to rent for meetings, conferences, workshops, banquets, parties, fundraisers and other special events.
