Fort Lauderdale Relaunches Business Mural Grant Program

Fort Lauderdale Relaunches Business Mural Grant Program

The City of Fort Lauderdale has relaunched its Business Mural Grant Program to support local businesses, professional artists, and the continued growth of public art throughout the city.

Through the program, five eligible Fort Lauderdale businesses will each receive a $5,000 grant to design and install a permanent mural on their building. The murals must be created by a professional artist, visible from the street, and completed within six months of the grant award.

Grant funding may be used to cover eligible project expenses, including artist fees, materials, surface preparation, protective coatings, and permitting costs.

Fort Lauderdale is already home to more than 60 murals. The Business Mural Grant Program will build on that collection by adding new works of public art that reflect the city’s creativity, character, and local talent.

Program Highlights

  • Five grants of $5,000 will be awarded to eligible Fort Lauderdale businesses.
  • One business from each City Commission District will be prioritized.
  • One additional project will be selected based on exceptional artistic merit.
  • Local artists may partner with Fort Lauderdale business owners to submit a joint application.
  • Murals must be permanent, visible from the street, and completed within six months of the award.

The application deadline is Friday, July 31, 2026. Only five grants are available.
