The Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency Board of Commissioners  have  approved $255,000 in funding  for a one year pilot project for home repairs and renovations for eligible properties in the Historic Dorsey Riverbend Community, in partnership with Rebuilding Together Broward County.The objective of the pilot project is to improve the visual landscape of the NFP-CRA area, to enhance the pride of ownership and to improve property values by repairing and enhancing homes and landscapes. Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) dollars are at work to renovate a vacant building into a reception hall with affordable rental housing. On November 5, 2019, the CRA Board of Commissioners approved a $350,000 incentive / forgivable loan to V & R Family Enterprises, Corp. V & R Family Enterprises, Corp will receive a $225,000 forgivable loan from the CRA Property and Business Improvement Program (PBIP) and a $125,000 forgivable loan from the CRA Façade Program for renovations of the building and site located at 1227 Sistrunk Boulevard. This property is owned by the Bolden family. The Bolden’s own and manage rental property throughout the CRA area. Huriash, South Florida Sun Sentinel   A plan that calls for hundreds of new homes will offer a big boost for the Sistrunk Boulevard neighborhood, Fort Lauderdale city leaders say.The project, known as West Village, will make up 455 rental homes — a mix of apartments and townhouses — and the project takes up a city block. Plans also include 17,752 square feet of commercial space of retail and restaurants. The homes range from 454 square feet for a one-bedroom to 1,754 square feet for the largest townhouse. Rent will begin at $990 for a studio; $1,100 for a one-bedroom; $1,500 for a two-bedroom and $2,300 for a townhouse. Construction will begin third quarter of 2020.Vice Mayor Robert L. On October 15, 2019, the Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners approved a $5 million incentive /forgivable loan to Fat Live Limited Partnership for the development of the Fat Live affordable housing project at 501 NW 1st Avenue.The proposed new development will be located at Fat Village, a group of warehouses and loft apartments located between Sistrunk Boulevard, NW 4th Street, the FEC Railway and Andrews Avenue.
