BACKGOUND: The Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) in partnership with WWA Development, a division of DeAngelo Development Inc., is launching an exciting project that will bring new market rate homes to the River Gardens/Sweeting Estates neighborhood.  WWA Development plans to construct 11 detached single-family homes on vacant lots in the neighborhood intended for buyers who will occupy the properties as their primary residence.

Several one and two-story models will be built ranging in size from 1720 – 1949 square feet with floor plans offering three-bedroom/two and a half bath and four-bedroom/two and a half bath options. Standard features will include tile roof, stamped driveways, granite countertops, wood cabinetry, stainless steel refrigerator with ice maker, range, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer. Prices will range from $260,000 to $289,000. The Fort Lauderdale CRA will offer purchase assistance to qualified homebuyers of up to $45,000 for down payment and closing costs.

The project reflects the vision and goals of the CRA to provide homeownership opportunities; remove pockets of blighted and vacant land; increase the tax base; enhance quality of life; improve the aesthetics, beauty and enjoyment of the redevelopment area; and promote an active, health, safe, and vibrant community.
