On December 15, 2020, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved $350,000 in CRA incentives to Omegas in Broward, Inc. for the renovation and build out of the Omega Center, located at 1108 Sistrunk Boulevard, into a modern meeting and event space. The  proposed renovations and build out entail a new contemporary facility with a large meeting area for special and business events.  Renovations will also include the installation of  new accessible restrooms, an outdoor seating area, and office and storage space.  Additional enhancements will also feature  high ceilings, ample windows and street frontage. Once completed, the facility will be available to the public to rent for meetings, conferences, workshops, banquets, parties, fundraisers and other special events. Tables, chairs, linen rentals, as well as audio/visual equipment rentals will also be available for use....

On December 2, 2020, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved $350,000 in CRA incentives to BH3 DJ Flagler LLC for the Fabrick Project, located at 801, 807, 815 and 819 NE 2nd Avenue in Progresso Village.  The proposed project will entail the renovation of  over 23,556 square foot of  vacant warehouse storage space into a  unique class A office and retail space . The  adaptive reuse project known as the Fabrick is strategically located along Progresso Drive and will  visibly  help define the character of the Progresso Village business community and activate the area. When completed, there will be a total of 12 business bays ranging from 1,053 to 3,117 square feet .The Fabrick will pair contemporary architectural treatments, exciting murals and lush landscaping to create a unique community business hub...

On November 17, 2020, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved $225,000 in CRA incentives to the Blue Tree Cafe, LLC for the build-out of a multi-brand kitchen and restaurant located at 612 NW 9th Avenue. The proposed restaurant will feature a healthy southern style menu with vegan and low sodium options; while offering carry-out service, delivery and catering services. The Blue Tree Cafe  will consist of two “virtual” restaurants. The vegan restaurant, which will offer plant based and low sodium menu items, and the southern style restaurant, which will feature healthy soul food options. Both restaurants will focus on fresh, organic, locally grown and sourced products and ingredients. Customers who order food through tech-enabled ordering platforms for take-out, curbside pick-up or delivery will also be able to see the kitchen operation...

On November 17, 2020, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved $3,000,000 in CRA incentives to Wright Dynasty, LLC for the construction of a mixed-use development located at 1217-1223 Sistrunk Boulevard. The proposed development features  a six-story building with a mix of housing and retail that will include five commercial units on the ground floor, two parking levels and 24 residential units. The 24 units will range in size from 720 sq.ft. for one-bedroom units to 1,075 sq.ft. for two-bedroom units. The building will also include a  green roof/recreational sun terrace for residents and their guests. In addition, underground utilities, a drainage system and trash and recycle containers will be installed. On November 5, 2020, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission , acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved $350,000 in CRA incentives to 1551 Sistrunk, LLC for the renovation of an existing vacant building into a new restaurant on the Historic Sistrunk Corridor known as B&D Trap. Plans  include renovating the building , located at 1551 Sistrunk Blvd into a barbecue restaurant with outdoor dining and entertainment. The restaurant will serve pork ribs, chicken, beef brisket and several flavors of barbeque sauce. It will also serve Daiquiris and non-alcoholic drinks. The CRA Board also authorized  the sale of property located adjacent to the proposed restaurant  for use as outdoor seating and parking. 1551 Sistrunk LLC applied for and is slated to receive a $125,000 Commercial Façade Program Loan and a $225,000 Property and Business Improvement Program (PBIP) Loan...
