Updated Redevelopment Plan Adopted

Updated Redevelopment Plan Adopted

The Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is excited to announce the approval of the Amended and Restated Community Redevelopment Plan for the Northwest-Progresso-Flagler Heights (NPF) CRA. The updated Plan was officially adopted by the CRA Board of Commissioners on December 2, 2025, marking an important milestone for the district’s continued growth and revitalization.

The update was required following the extension of the NPF CRA through 2035, approved earlier this year by the City of Fort Lauderdale and the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. To complete this effort, the CRA worked closely with Business Flare, LLC, City departments, residents, business owners, and community partners to ensure the Plan reflects today’s priorities and opportunities.

The Amended Plan outlines five core redevelopment goals that will guide investment and community improvements over the next decade:

  • Economic Development

  • Housing & Residential Life

  • Public Improvements & Infrastructure

  • Transportation, Mobility & Parking

  • Redevelopment Support

Within these goals are targeted initiatives—such as mixed-income housing, commercial corridor revitalization, enhanced lighting and sidewalks, improved mobility connections, adaptive reuse opportunities, and broadband equity—that will help shape a stronger, more vibrant neighborhood. Residents, business owners, and stakeholders played a key role in helping shape the Plan. Public meetings, advisory board discussions, interviews, and multilingual online surveys ensured that the community’s voice guided the Plan’s recommendations.

The updated Redevelopment Plan serves as the roadmap for reducing blight, supporting economic opportunity, expanding housing options, and enhancing public spaces throughout the NPF CRA. With this Plan in place, the CRA is moving forward with a renewed commitment to building a thriving, inclusive, and resilient community.
