14 Sep Provident Park Improvements
On September 9, 2021, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved an agreement with ACAI Associates, Inc to provide architectural services to design plans for improvements to Provident Park. Provident Park is located in the heart of the Sistrunk Corridor at 1212 Sistrunk Boulevard. Proposed upgrades to the park, include historical monuments , an interactive water splash pad, improved walking trails, an amphitheater/bandstand, new restrooms, and landscape designs. ACAI Associates, Inc., a City-approved architectural firm, will provide services that include: development review, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and contract administration.
Improvements to Provident Park is consistent with the Northwest -Progresso- Flagler Village CRA Community Redevelopment Plan which provides for direct physical improvements to enhance the overall environment, improve the quality of life and attract sound business and commercial development. Based on the preliminary construction estimate, the total project cost for improvements to the park will not exceed $4 million.
