A new restaurant is coming to Sistrunk Blvd with support from the CRA. On May 8, 2019, Mayor Dean Trantalis, Vice Mayor Robert McKinzie, the CRA along with friends and neighbors celebrated the start of construction on Smitty’s Wings.The locally owned and operated restaurant, will specialize in signature chicken wings and flavorful sauces; while creating a dining destination,providing job opportunities and improving the quality of life in the Redevelopment Area. The restaurant will be located at 1134 Sistrunk Blvd. Renovations will include interior and exterior improvements. Examples of the improvements are a new kitchen,seating for 50 patrons, a bar and an outdoor patio. Smitty’s Wings is owned and operated by former State Senator Christopher L. The Northwest Progresso Flagler Heights (NPF) CRA Residential and Façade Landscaping Program provides financial assistance to improve the appearance of single-family residential homes within the CRA Area. Eligible properties can receive up to $7500 worth of exterior improvements. Eligibility This program is for single-family residential homes, either owner-occupied or tenant-occupied residential investment properties located in the NPF CRA Area. Applications are currently being accepted from properties in the River Gardens / Sweeting Estates neighborhood. Applicants are eligible to receive up to $7500 per property for exterior painting and xeriscape landscaping. Xeriscape landscaping is landscaping designed specifically for areas that are susceptible to drought, or for properties where water conservation is indicated.
