The Alridge

The Alridge is a mixed-use affordable housing development currently under construction, designed as a five-story building that combines residential living with ground-floor retail space and a structured parking garage. The project is intended to support a vibrant, multi-generational community while expanding access to high-quality, affordable housing in the area.The development will include a total of 36 apartment units, consisting of 12 two-bedroom, two-bath units, 16 one-bedroom, one-bath units, and eight studio apartments. In addition, the building will feature approximately 3,000 square feet of commercial space to support neighborhood-serving businesses and enhance street-level activity.

All residential units will be pet-friendly and equipped with Energy Star appliances, including a range, refrigerator, washer, and dryer. The apartments will feature professionally designed kitchens with granite countertops, designer lighting, and thoughtfully finished common areas with designer tile.The Alridge will offer mixed-income housing opportunities for both working professionals and retired residents. Affordability will be maintained for a minimum of 30 years, serving individuals and families earning up to 60% of Broward County’s area median income. Monthly rents will be capped at 30% of gross household income, inclusive of utilities.The development is named in honor of Sylvia H. Alridge, one of the City’s first African American entrepreneurs, a Sistrunk business owner, and the first president of the Dillard High School PTA. Her legacy reflects a commitment to community leadership and economic empowerment that aligns with the goals of the project.
