28 Oct Grand Opening of The Adderley Highlights Continued Investment in the Northwest-Progresso-Flagler Heights CRA
On October 24, 2025, the Northwest-Progresso-Flagler Heights Community Redevelopment Agency (NPF CRA) joined Altis Cardinal Living, LLC, City officials, and community partners to celebrate the grand opening of The Adderley Apartments. The event marked a significant milestone in the ongoing revitalization of the Northwest Fort Lauderdale area, highlighting the success of collaborative redevelopment efforts and the continued investment in quality housing and mixed-use projects within the CRA district.
Located along Sistrunk Boulevard and the Avenue of the Arts, The Adderley represents a major achievement in urban design and community development — bringing new residential, retail, and recreational opportunities to one of the city’s most active redevelopment corridors.
Developed by Altis Cardinal Living, LLC, The Adderley is a six-story, mixed-use development featuring two residential buildings with a total of 417 multifamily rental units. The residences offer a diverse mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and townhomes ranging from 454 to 1,754 square feet, designed to meet the needs of modern urban living.
Beyond its residences, The Adderley features 15,027 square feet of retail space, 11,000 square feet of resident amenities, and an eight-story parking garage with 549 spaces. The community’s resort-style swimming pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, and two-lane bowling alley set a new standard for lifestyle amenities within Fort Lauderdale’s urban core.
More than just a name, The Adderley pays homage to Julian “Cannonball” Adderley, the world-renowned jazz saxophonist and educator who was born and raised in Northwest Fort Lauderdale. Before captivating audiences across the globe, Adderley taught music and directed the band at Dillard High School, where he inspired generations of young musicians. His enduring legacy of excellence, creativity, and community pride is now immortalized in a project that bears his name — a perfect reflection of his spirit and contribution to this neighborhood’s cultural fabric.
The Adderley stands as a shining example of the power of public–private collaboration. With $12 million in funding from the NPF CRA, the project represents the agency’s largest incentive investment to date — including an $8.4 million forgivable loan, a $3.6 million zero-interest loan, and the sale of CRA-owned property at market value to support its completion.
This investment demonstrates the CRA’s ongoing commitment to revitalizing the Sistrunk corridor and advancing its mission to eliminate slum and blight while promoting economic growth and equitable development.
Located along Sistrunk Boulevard and the Avenue of the Arts, The Adderley is more than a housing development — it’s a gateway to the community’s growth and renewal. Its modern architecture, artistic design features, and curated spaces complement the area’s evolving urban landscape and reflect the City’s broader commitment to strategic redevelopment.
To date, approximately 85% of units have been leased, reflecting the strong demand for quality workforce housing in the area and validating the CRA’s investment in projects that create long-term community impact.
The Adderley joins a growing list of transformative projects supported by the NPF CRA that are reshaping the Sistrunk neighborhood into a more vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable community. This grand opening not only celebrated a beautiful new development but also reaffirmed a shared vision — one where public investment, private partnership, and strategic planning come together to strengthen Fort Lauderdale’s future.
