On June 6, 2023, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners approved   $402,696 in CRA incentives  to 825 Progresso Drive, LLC for the development of the Progresso Park project located at 825-833 Progresso Drive. The proposed project consist of the redevelopment of a former dilapidated used car lot into an indoor/outdoor venue offering yoga, fitness, art, food, market, music, and family-oriented recreation during the day  and young professional recreation during the evening hours. Plans for the Progresso Park  entail refurbishing  the  existing  site with  shipping containers or similar preconstructed structures, along with renovating  a building  for restaurant use. On June 6, 2023, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners approved a resolution  to increase  CRA Development Incentive Program loan funding from $1,500,000 to $1,900,000 to Related FATVillage, LLC for the Gallery at FAT Village Project. The Gallery at FAT Village Project is  located  in Fort Lauderdale’s  Flagler Village neighborhood at 600 Andrews Avenue.  The project  will consist of  a 16-story mixed-use and mixed-income development with 263 multi-family residential units and 2,394 square feet of ground floor retail.  Of the 263 residential units, 53 units will be leased at 50% of the area median income (AMI) and 97 units will be leased at 120% AMI with the remainder (113 units) leased at market rates. On June 6, 2023, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners approved  a Resolution for a $2,000,000 Development Incentive Program forgivable loan to New Hope Development Corporation for the New Hope Affordable Housing Development located at 1316 Sistrunk Boulevard. The New Hope Affordable housing project is a four-story development with thirty (30) rental apartment homes and ground floor parking. On January 10, 2023, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners approved an additional $1 million in Development Incentive Program (DIP) funding to Thrive Development Group, LLC for the development of the Thrive Progresso project. Thrive Progresso is located in the industrial portion of Fort Lauderdale’s Progresso Village neighborhood, fronting both sides of NW 5th Avenue between NW 7th Street and NW 8th Street. The project, which is currently under construction, has been described as the new Wynwood in Fort Lauderdale turning undesirable uses and urban blight into a  mixed use business, culture and entertainment destination. On December 6, 2022, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners approved a funding increase  to Wright Dynasty, LLC for the construction of a  new mixed-use development that will provide affordable workforce housing on historic Sistrunk Blvd. The funding increase, from $3 million to $3.5 million is being provided in the form of a forgivable loan from the CRA's Development Incentive Program to assist the developer with building expenses.
