By PHILLIP VALYS SOUTH FLORIDA SUN SENTINEL It’s opening day at Fort Lauderdale’s first food hall, Sistrunk Marketplace, and the octopus balls are flying off the shelves at Adriana Yoshii’s Asian tapas stall.Much is riding on the success of Yoshii’s booth Senbazuru, one of 11 vendors that waited more than a year for the much-anticipated food hall to open. Her restaurant specializes in ramen bowls and combining international bites into bento boxes, such as Mexican jalapeno poppers, Spanish patatas bravas (spiced potatoes cut into cubes) and Japanese takoyaki (snack-size octopus balls). “I feel like a salmon swimming against the current,” Yoshii says. “I just hope we can make it.” Senbazuru, along with Yoshii’s other booth, the vegan-friendly Healthy Raw Living Food, have been popular since Sistrunk Marketplace opened on Thursday and Friday to local VIP invitees. The Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency  (CRA) has instituted a social distance policy, which limits the physical staffing at the office. All staff are still available during normal office hours by email or via phone.  Click here to view the NPF CRA directory The CRA office is currently closed to the public. If you must come to the office, please contact the CRA to schedule an appointment. All meetings are currently being held virtually. To schedule a meeting  contact a CRA staff member using the directory above. To enter the building, all visitors must wear a face mask,  have a temperature check lower than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit and not be displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 ( i.e.fever,dry cough and fatigue). The City of Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) announces an Emergency Business Investment Program designed to provide relief for businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will provide up to $10,000 in forgivable loans that may be used toward rent or mortgage payments, employee payroll, or utilities. Applications are being accepted for eligible  small businesses located in Fort Lauderdale’s Northwest Progresso Flagler Heights Community Redevelopment Area (NPFCRA) as well as the Central City CRA.
