On November 17, 2020, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved $3,000,000 in CRA incentives to Wright Dynasty, LLC for the construction of a mixed-use development located at 1217-1223 Sistrunk Boulevard. The proposed development features  a six-story building with a mix of housing and retail that will include five commercial units on the ground floor, two parking levels and 24 residential units. The 24 units will range in size from 720 sq.ft. for one-bedroom units to 1,075 sq.ft. for two-bedroom units. The building will also include a  green roof/recreational sun terrace for residents and their guests. In addition, underground utilities, a drainage system and trash and recycle containers will be installed. On November 5, 2020, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission , acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved $350,000 in CRA incentives to 1551 Sistrunk, LLC for the renovation of an existing vacant building into a new restaurant on the Historic Sistrunk Corridor known as B&D Trap. Plans  include renovating the building , located at 1551 Sistrunk Blvd into a barbecue restaurant with outdoor dining and entertainment. The restaurant will serve pork ribs, chicken, beef brisket and several flavors of barbeque sauce. It will also serve Daiquiris and non-alcoholic drinks. On October 6, 2020, the City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners, approved a $290,000 forgivable loan to Junny Investment Group LLC for Donna’s Caribbean Restaurant (Donna's) , located at 2012 NW 6 Street. The  proposed restaurant will feature a  2,226 square foot take-out/drive-through area with a 688 square foot dining room, kitchen/service area and two bathrooms. An additional $35,000 may be awarded towards the project, at the discretion of the CRA’s Executive Director, for legitimate cost overruns. Donna’s Caribbean Restaurant will, specialize  in West Indian cuisine with exotic island fare, including curried goat, oxtail, jerk chicken, patties, ackee and saltfish, callaloo and escovitch fish, seasoned in special herbs and spices with fruit and vegetables of the Caribbean. On September 1, 2020, the City of Fort Lauderdale Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Commissioners approved a $640,000 Development Incentive Program Loan to Mount Hermon Housing, LTD. for the development of Mount Hermon Apartments. The CRA’s Development Incentive Program Loan is contingent upon the award of a 9% tax credit from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. The Mount Hermon Apartments will consist of an affordable senior housing project located in the Northwest portion of the CRA area in the Dorsey Riverbend neighborhood at the corner of NW 4th Street and NW 8th Avenue.
