Ren November 23, 2015, the members of the Robert Bethel American Legion Post 220 and Auxiliary Unit distributed approximately 80 turkeys to veterans and needy families just in time for Thanksgiving. Families picked up the turkeys, and turkeys were also delivered. “The American Legion has four pillars that we focus on, and this is one of them. We do this every year to address the needs of veterans and our community,” said Stanley Stubbs, Adjutant at Robert Bethel American Legion Post 220. Chartered in 1947, the Robert Bethel American Legion Post 220 has been providing services and programming for veterans who served in the military during various eras, as well as their families in Broward County. THE NAME The Northwest-Progresso-Flagler CRA will now be called the Fort Lauderdale Village District to involve all of the neighborhoods within the CRA under one umbrella. THE LOOK This creative look and feel was not achieved overnight. In November 2014, the NPF CRA hired The Mosaic Group to assist with rebranding the area and developing initiatives to highlight the CRA’s redevelopment efforts. Since then, The Mosaic Group has been entrenched in the community to ensure residents feel a part of the creative process. In July, The Mosaic Group conducted a focus group with key stakeholders from all three communities to discuss the concepts that were being evaluated by the CRA.
