THE NEWLY BRANDED FORT LAUDERDALE VILLAGE DISTRICT HOSTS SMALL BUSINESS WEEK 2016! MAY 5th – 7th, 2016

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL | May 5, 2016 – The newly branded Fort Lauderdale Village District hosts it’s 2nd Annual National Small Business Week which will kick off May 5-7. The Ft. Lauderdale NPF-CRA will celebrate small businesses that make a big impact. National Small business week is a program designed by the U.S. Small Business Administration to celebrate small business accomplishments throughout the United States. During this period, the many accomplishments of small business owners are acknowledged and entrepreneurs are encouraged to succeed with workshops that help with strategic planning, best practices, mentorship and networking.

Small Business Week – Ft. Lauderdale Small Business. Big Imapact. is a series of events focused on empowering and creating awareness for existing businesses within the NPF CRA region, attracting new business interest to the area, and encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to launch new ventures. This exciting week of activities will include Money Matters Mixer, Small Business Conference, and Small Business Saturday. Small Business Week Ft. Lauderdale is a collaborative effort of the City of Fort Lauderdale, Ft. Lauderdale NPF-CRA, The Mosaic Group, Ft Lauderdale Negro Chamber of Commerce, Midtown Business Association, and the Urban League of Broward County.

Join us as we kick-off Small Business Week Fort Lauderdale with a networking event unlike any other. The Small Business Conference is a one-day event you do not want to miss. The conference will include a series of workshops and panels geared towards the development, capacity building and enhancement of local small businesses. Topics will include: Doing Business with the City of Fort Lauderdale, Get Money: How to Get Your Business Funded, Marketing in the Digital Era, and the ABCs for Entrepreneurs. Lunch will be provided and attendees will be able to tour the venue.

Small Business Saturday is an outdoor business expo that will showcase restaurants, food trucks, pop-up businesses, retailers, professional services, activated art spaces, and Small Business Week event sponsors. Event-goers will have the opportunity to shop small, local and have their dollar make a big impact on the local economy. The event will start at Sistrunk Park, and attendees will be able to ride the trolley to four other stops throughout Fort Lauderdale Village District.
